Why Bowentown Beach Holiday Park is Our New Family Holiday Spot

As a young family with a lively dog, finding the perfect holiday destination can be a challenge. We recently discovered Bowentown Beach Holiday Park, and I can confidently say it has become our favorite getaway spot! Here’s why we fell in love with this stunning location and why it should be your next family vacation destination too.

1. Breathtaking Natural Beauty

Bowentown Beach is a hidden gem on New Zealand’s stunning coastline. The park is nestled between beautiful sandy beaches and the picturesque hills of the Bay of Plenty. We spent countless hours exploring the beach and bays, building sandcastles, and enjoying the warm sun. The stunning sunsets  and open air Hot tub were a magical end to our days, and the tranquility of the area made it feel like a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

2. Family-Friendly Amenities

One of the standout features of Bowentown Beach Holiday Park is its family-friendly amenities. The park offers a range of accommodation options, from cozy cabins to beachfront sites for campervans. We opted for a pet friendly cabin, which provided the perfect blend of comfort and convenience. The kids loved having their own space to play, while we enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen and outdoor seating area for family meals.

3. Dog-Friendly Environment

As dog lovers, finding a pet-friendly holiday destination is a top priority for us. Bowentown Beach Holiday Park welcomes dogs, which made our furry friend feel right at home. There are plenty of open spaces for our dog to run around, and the beach is just a short walk away. Seeing our kids and dog play together in the sand was one of the highlights of our trip.

4. Endless Outdoor Activities

For families that love adventure, Bowentown Beach Holiday Park is a paradise. We took advantage of the park’s proximity to various outdoor activities. From kayaking and paddleboarding to hiking and fishing, there’s something for everyone. We rented bikes and explored the scenic routes along the coast, and the kids enjoyed swimming in the safe, shallow waters of Anzac bay.

5. Community Vibe and Events

The park has a warm, welcoming community vibe, especially at the communal on-site coffee shop “Froth” which served up barista coffee, hot chocolates, delish toasted sandwiches and sweet treats. We met other families during our stay, and organising activities bringing everyone together was a breeze. Movie nights and beach clean-up days were some of the park led organised events. It was lovely to see our children making new friends and enjoying these group activities, which added to the overall experience.

6. Convenient Location

Bowentown Beach Holiday Park is conveniently located near local attractions. We took day trips to explore nearby towns, visited local markets, and even tried out some delicious eateries such as The Refinery cafe in Paeroa after exploring the Karangahake gorge trails and walks. This accessibility allowed us to enjoy both the tranquility of the park and the excitement of nearby adventures.

7. Unforgettable Memories

Ultimately, what makes Bowentown Beach Holiday Park our new family holiday spot is the unforgettable memories we created. Whether it was a (small) bonfire on the beach, laughter-filled family games, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature together, our time there was filled with joy and connection.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for a family-friendly, dog-welcoming holiday destination with breathtaking views and plenty of activities, Bowentown Beach Holiday Park is the place to be. We can’t wait to return and make even more memories in this beautiful spot!
