Joanne6 September 2026We stayed in a powered site for 1 night and really wish we could have stayed longer. We turned up after the office officially closed for the day but a staff member was luckily still there and made us feel welcome and gave us the best spot in the park for the night. The facilities were clean and really well looked after. All the staff we saw and talked to were friendly and helpful. It really is a gem of a place to stay.+0Posted on Google

Andrew Seeley13 August 2026We recently had the pleasure of spending five nights here, in our campervan. It's the best Holiday Park we've stayed at yet! The grounds, buildings and facilities were very clean, tidy and well maintained. The staff were fantastic - very friendly and helpful. There's even a lovely coffee shop located right next to the office. They also have a good selection of snacks and holidaying essentials (for those who forget something). Even our young golden retriever was made to feel welcome, with plenty of pets from staff and other guests. The park is located right on the beach and a short walk to sheltered beaches around Shelly Bay. There are also very nice walks along the foreshore and adjacent domain. We will definitely be returning.+2

Michael Johnson12 July 2026We have been camping at Bowentown for 30 years this summer..its fantastic, and now our kids and grandkids come as well.The park facilities are great. the staff are amazing ..its always clean and tidy.. the beaches are fantastic with surf beach, Anzac Bay, Shelley Bay and Cave Bay places to swim whatever the weather ..this year we stayed in July , we had always talked about a winter stay and we weren't disappointed..it rained a bit , but that didn't matter, the sun did come out..we walked along the beach to the sandbags everyday and also made it to Orokawa Bay..we measure the success of our trip by how many days we don't drive anywhere..this trip we only drove to the Flat White Cafe for a special dinner ..we get groceries delivered..if we need gin we walk to Wilson Road and back . To be honest .I hesitated about writing this review, because we really want to keep Bowentown our secret ..but I guess the secrets out now

Bowentown always delivers Bowentown is a very special place at the south end of Waihi beach. The camp is family friendly, clean and tidy with amazing staff ..the on-site café is a bonus.The proximity to not one, two but four different beaches means you can be at a different beach depending on your mood ..surf beach for the surf, Anzac bay for the littleies, Shelley Bay for a quiet picnic..and Cave bay for surfcasting. We have been camping at Bowentown for coming up 30 years..our children now come back with their partners and our grandchildren..we have just been there in July to have a winter stay and it was perfect ..the weather was a mixture, but we walked up the beach every day. Ventured over to Orokawa Bay. It's a beautiful place anytime of the year...full recommend Bowentown ..its a special, secret part of New ZealandPosted on Tripadvisor

Simone Roberts31 May 2026Had a lovely weekend stay at Bowentown holiday park ,Friendly helpful staff , great clean facilities ,lovely little cafe, and they also sell bait which was handy as we went surfcasting off the beach and fishing off the rocks on the other side . Had a very relaxed friendly atmosphere would definitely go again..

The best Sourdough toasties ever. Two minutes walk to surf Beach and 5 minutes walk to Anzac beach. Great setup. Friendly staff, great vibe 👌Posted on Google

The access to the beach is very good and the beach is wonderful. There’s a great walking trail adjacent to the campground which provides great views of the bay. It’s our favourite place to camp!+2

Denise Ritchie14 May 2026Stayed overnight in the cute and iconic orange Kombi. Everything about it was fantastic! Bed super comfy. Inside was warm and toasty. Plenty of ambient lighting & power outlets. The lovely manager Julz was very welcoming. Facilities were great. Beach walks were restorative. Overall a fabulous experience!

Very tidy & clean amenities. Dog friendly off peak months is a real bonus. We will definitely return for another relaxing, enjoyable stay. Thank you. 😊👍

The staff are always friendly and helpful, the facilities are good and always clean, the tent/caravan sites are a good size, and most importantly, the pricing is reasonable. NOVA G10 September 2025Beachfront Campground The beach, the sand dunes then the campsite! The waves your music 24 hours a day. This campsite is on the foot of Bowentown Reserve and you can walk to the top of the cliff with the 360 views of the peninsula and can see neighbouring towns like the Matakana Island. Few minutes walk to Shelly Bay and ANZAC BAY. They have onsite cafe, basic grocery items if you run out and good facilities, the TV room with the big TV is awesome and they have other play rooms for kids. Zoe O25 May 2025Top tier camp ground Absolutely loved our stay at Bowentown Holiday Park! The park was spotlessly clean and really well maintained, with clear upgrades throughout. Staff were friendly, helpful, and the definition of great customer service. The jumping pillow, playground, movie room, games room, and beach access kept the whole family entertained, and the onsite cafe served amazing coffee and toasted sandwiches. Pam C28 April 2025Weekend family break Family of 4 adults and 2 dogs. We stayed in a pet friendly cabin for 3 nights. Cabin was excellent with everything you need for a weekend stay. Lovely hot shower and very comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen. Sky TV was available though we didn't use it. There was a gate to keep dogs in, plus a little grassed area and a small deck with outdoor furniture out back. Highly recommend this holiday park for families - fantastic facilities, plus a cafe and small shop on site. Loved the coffee and toasted sandwiches!!! On one side you have the surf beach and a short walk away you have the harbour - safe swimming for children. Excellent fishing spot, some good walks too.Load more
